The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Prosperous are the believers, 1 those who are humble in their prayer; 2 And who shun vain conversation, 3 And who are givers of poor-rate, 4 Who abstain from sex, 5 except with their wives, and what their right hands possess -- for then they are free from blame, 6 But whoever seeks to go beyond that, these are they that exceed the limits; 7 And those who fulfil their trusts and keep their promises; 8 And who guard their prayers. 9 These are the real gainers, 10 Who will inherit Paradise: they will dwell therein (for ever). 11 We created man of an extraction of clay, 12 then We placed him as a drop of fluid in a safe place, 13 Then We made the seed a clot, then We made the clot a lump of flesh, then We made (in) the lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, then We caused it to grow into another creation, so blessed be Allah, the best of the creators. 14 Then lo! after that ye surely die. 15 then on the Day of Resurrection you shall surely be raised up. 16 And assuredly We created above you seven paths, and of the creation We have not been neglectful. 17 And We have sent down rain from the sky in a measured amount and settled it in the earth. And indeed, We are Able to take it away. 18 We have produced palm-groves and vineyards for you, in which there are abundant fruits for you; and you eat these, 19 And a tree that springeth forth from Mount Sinai that groweth oil and relish for the eaters. 20 And in cattle (too) ye have an instructive example: from within their bodies We produce (milk) for you to drink; there are, in them, (besides), numerous (other) benefits for you; and of their (meat) ye eat; 21 And you are carried on them and on the ship. 22
