S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Sad [These letters (Sad etc.) are one of the miracles of the Quran and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. By the Quran full of reminding. 1 But the unbelievers are still full of pride and hostility. 2 How many a generation We have destroyed before them, and they cried out when there was no longer time for escape! 3 Now they marvel that a warner has come to them from among them; and the unbelievers say, 'This is a lying sorcerer. 4 "Has he made the gods (all) into one Allah? Truly this is a wonderful thing!" 5 And the leaders among them went about (saying): "Go on, and remain constant to your aliha (gods)! Verily, This is a thing designed (against you)! 6 We have not heard this in the religious community close to our time. This is nothing but a fabrication. 7 Can it be that he alone has received the Quran?" In fact, they have doubts about My Quran and this is because they have not yet faced (My) torment. 8 Or, have they the treasuries of the Mercy of your Lord, the Almighty, the Giving? 9 Or, is theirs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and that which is in-between the twain? If so, let them ascend by steps. 10 They will be one more army vanquished among the many routed hordes. 11 Before them, the people of Nooh had denied, and the tribe of A’ad, and Firaun who used to crucify. 12 and so did Thamud and the people of Lot and the people of Aykah. These were all leagued together. 13 Not one (of them) but rejected the messengers, but My punishment came justly and inevitably (on them). 14
