Surely We have created man, and We know the promptings of his heart, and We are nearer to him than even his jugular vein. 16 [And so,] whenever the two demands [of his nature] come face to face, contending from the right and from the left, 17 There is not a word he utters but an observer is ready (to make note of it). 18 And the hardship of death came with the truth; “This is what you were escaping from!” 19 And the Trumpet shall be blown; that is the Day of the Threat. 20 Everyone has come, each attended by one who will drive him on, and another who will bear witness. 21 You were heedless of this. Now We have removed your veil and so your vision today is sharp. 22 And his comrade shall say, 'This is what I have, made ready.' 23 It will be said to the angels, “Both of you fling every excessive ungrateful, stubborn person into hell.” 24 "Hinderer of good, transgressor, doubter, 25 Who made [as equal] with Allah another deity; then throw him into the severe punishment." 26 ۞ His accompanying devil said, “Our Lord! I did not cause him to rebel, but he himself was in extreme error.” 27 God will say, "Do not quarrel in My presence. I gave you the warning beforehand 28 The Word cannot be changed with Me; I do not wrong My worshipers' 29
