Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 and raise (clouds) and scatter them around, 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 Till a limit known? 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 for the living and the dead, 26 Set We not therein soaring mountains? Sated you with sweetest water? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
