[Moses] said, "My Lord, expand for me my breast [with assurance] 25 “And make my task easy for me.” 26 Unloose the knot upon my tongue, 27 so that they may understand me. 28 “And appoint for me a viceroy from among my family.” 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 Add Thou through him to my strength, 31 And associate him in my affair. 32 So that we should glorify Thee much, 33 and remember You much: 34 Surely You know us well." 35 The Lord said, "Moses, your request is granted. 36 "And indeed We conferred a favour on you another time (before). 37 Remember when We inspired your mother with a certain inspiration 38 Saying: Put him into a chest, then cast it down into the river, then the river shall throw him on the shore; there shall take him up one who is an enemy to Me and enemy to him, and I cast down upon you love from Me, and that you might be brought up before My eyes; 39 “When your sister went, then said, ‘Shall I show you the people who may nurse him?’ And We brought you back to your mother in order to soothe her eyes and that she may not grieve; and you killed a man, so We freed you from sorrow, and tested you to the maximum; you therefore stayed for several years among the people of Madyan; then you came (here) at an appointed time, O Moosa.” 40 I have chosen you for My service. 41 Go, you and your brother, with My signs and do not slacken in My remembrance. 42 Go, both of you, unto Pharaoh. Lo! he hath transgressed (the bounds). 43 Then say to him a gentle saying; haply he may be admonished or he may fear. 44 The twain said: O our Lord! verily we fear that he may hasten against us or wax exorbitant. 45 He said; fear not; verily I shall be with you twain: I shall hear and see. 46 Both of you go to him (Pharaoh) and say: "We are the Messengers of your Lord. Let the Children of Israel depart with us, and do not punish them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord; peace be on him who follows guidance! 47 "'Verily it has been revealed to us that the Penalty (awaits) those who reject and turn away.'" 48 [Pharaoh] said, "So who is the Lord of you two, O Moses?" 49 He said: "Our Lord is He Who gave to each (created) thing its form and nature, and further, gave (it) guidance." 50 He said: Then what is the state of the former generations? 51 He (Moses) answered: 'The knowledge of them is in a Book with My Lord. My Lord neither goes astray, nor forgets. 52 [It is He] who has made for you the earth as a bed [spread out] and inserted therein for you roadways and sent down from the sky, rain and produced thereby categories of various plants. 53 Eat [therefrom] and pasture your livestock. Indeed, in that are signs for those of intelligence. 54
