And make mention (O Muhammad) of Our bondman Job, when he cried unto his Lord (saying): Lo! the devil doth afflict me with distress and torment. 41 [So he was told], "Strike [the ground] with your foot; this is a [spring for] a cool bath and drink." 42 We restored to him his family and like those with them, a mercy from Us and a reminder to a nation that understand. 43 We said to Him, "Take a handful of twigs in your hand and strike with that but do not break your oath." We found him steadfast. What an excellent servant! He turned constantly to his Lord. 44 Remember Our servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob -- possessors of strength and vision. 45 Verily We! We distinguished them with a distinct quality: the remembrance of the Abode. 46 They are the chosen ones, the excellent in Our sight. 47 And remember Ishmael, Elisha and Dhu'l-Kifl. Every one of them is among the best. 48 This was a remembrance. An excellent retreat awaits the God-fearing 49 Gardens of perpetual residence, whose doors will be opened to them. 50 They will be resting therein and will be able to ask for many kinds of fruit and drink. 51 ۞ They will have bashful wives of equal age with them. 52 Such is the Promise made, to you for the Day of Account! 53 This is surely Our provision never-ending. 54 All this (is for the God-fearing). But for the transgressors, an evil resort awaits them -- 55 Hell; they shall enter it, so evil is the resting-place. 56 all this will be theirs; let them taste it -- a scalding, dark, foul fluid, 57 And other (punishment) of the same kind-- of various sorts. 58 Here is an army rushing blindly with you. (Those who are already in the Fire say): No word of welcome for them. Lo! they will roast at the Fire. 59 The followers will say, “In fact, for you! May you not get open space! It is you who brought this calamity upon us!” So what a wretched destination. 60 They say, “Our Lord! Whoever has brought this calamity upon us double the punishment of the fire for him!” 61 And they will say: "What has happened to us that we see not men whom we used to number among the bad ones? 62 "Did we treat them (as such) in ridicule, or have (our) eyes failed to perceive them?" 63 That most surely is the truth: the contending one with another of the inmates of the fire. 64
