Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 and raise (clouds) and scatter them around, 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 Till an appointed term, 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
