The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 And when the earth is stretched, 3 and casts out all that is within and voids itself, 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 He truly will receive an easy reckoning 8 And will return to his people full of joy. 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 And will go into the blazing fire. 12 Surely he was (erstwhile) joyful among his followers. 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 But no; (how would he not revert)? His Lord was ever watching him. 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 And the moon when at the full, 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 And when the Quran is recited to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 Yet God has full knowledge of what they conceal [in their hearts]. 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
