The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 And the second followeth it, 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
