The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
