Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Some faces will on that Day be downcast, 2 Toiling, weary, 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 Drinking from a boiling spring, 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 [Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. 8 Well-pleased with their endeavour, 9 In a high Garden. 10 where they will hear no idle talk, 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high, 13 And drinking-cups ready placed, 14 And cushions ranged 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 What, do they not consider how the camel was created, 17 And at the sky, how it is raised aloft? 18 how the mountains are set firm, 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 Other than him who turns his back and denies, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 Then, surely, it is for Us to call them to account. 26
