In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Alif Lam Mim 1 Those are the verses of the Wise Book, 2 providing guidance and grace unto the doers of good 3 Those who establish the prayer and give the poor-rate and of the Hereafter are convinced. 4 these are rightly guided by their Lord: and these are the ones who will prosper. 5 And of mankind is he who purchases idle talks (i.e. music, singing, etc.) to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah without knowledge, and takes it (the Path of Allah, the Verses of the Quran) by way of mockery. For such there will be a humiliating torment (in the Hell-fire). 6 And when our verses are recited to him, he turns away arrogantly as if he had not heard them, as if there was in his ears deafness. So give him tidings of a painful punishment. 7 Surely for those who believe and do the right are pleasure gardens. 8 In which they will abide; it is a true promise of Allah; and only He is the Almighty, the Wise. 9 He created the heavens without any supports visible to you, and cast mountains as anchors into the earth so that it may not shake with you, and spread all kinds of beasts in it; and We sent down water from the sky so thereby grew all kinds of refined pairs in it. 10 This is God's creation; now show me what those have created that are apart from Him! Nay, but the evildoers are in manifest error. 11
