The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the Event inevitable cometh to pass, 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 abasing, exalting, 3 When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake. 4 And the mountains are crumbled, crumbled. 5 So that they will become floating dust particles. 6 And ye will be three kinds: 7 Companions of the Right, what are the Companions of the Right? 8 And (then) those on the left hand; what of those on the left hand? 9 And the foremost in the race, the foremost in the race: 10 Those are the ones brought near [to Allah] 11 in the Gardens of Bliss. 12 A number of people from those of old, 13 And a few of later ages, 14 They (will be seated) on gold-encrusted couches, 15 Reclining thereon facing each other. 16 Surrounded by immortal boys. 17 With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring - 18 (no brows throbbing, no intoxication) 19 they will also go about them with the fruits of which they may choose, 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 And pure, beautiful ones, 22 The likes unto pearls hidden. 23 A Reward for the deeds of their past (life). 24 No Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk) will they hear therein, nor any sinful speech (like backbiting, etc.). 25 All talk will be sound and upright. 26 The Companions of the Right 27 Amid thornless lote-trees, 28 Among Talh trees with flowers (or fruits) piled one above another,- 29 And shade extended 30 and flowing water 31 And fruit in plenty, 32 Neither out of reach nor yet forbidden, 33 and upraised couches. 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 having resurrected them as virgins, 36 chaste, loving companions of the same age 37 like of age for the Companions of the Right. 38
