Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 and the night when it retreats 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 surely (Hell) is one of the greatest Signs, 35 As a warning unto men, 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 Except the companions of the right, 39 who will be in Paradise 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us. 47 So, the intercession of intercessors will not avail them. 48 Why now turn they away from the Admonishment, 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (God) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins). 56

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
