Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
