The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the night, when it envelops, 1 And the day resplendent 2 And Him who created the male and female, 3 Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse. 4 Yet he who gives to others and has fear, 5 and believes in the truth of the ultimate good 6 We will ease him toward ease. 7 As for him who was a miser and behaved with aversion (to Allah), 8 And denies the best [reward], 9 for him shall We make easy the path towards hardship: 10 nor will his wealth profit him when he falls [into the pit]. 11 Surely it is for Us to show the Right Way, 12 and to Us belong the Next Life and the present. 13 I therefore warn you of the fire that is ablaze. 14 Which only the most wretched must endure, 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 But the righteous one will avoid it - 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 and confers no favor upon anyone for recompense 19 seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High, 20 Will surely be gratified. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
