۞ Say: 'O my people who have been prodigal against yourselves, do not despair of God's mercy; surely God forgives sins altogether; surely He is the All-forgiving, the All-compassionate. 53 Turn to your Lord and submit to Him before His scourge overtakes you, for then you shall not be helped. 54 "And follow the best of (the courses) revealed to you from your Lord, before the Penalty comes on you - of a sudden while ye perceive not!- 55 Lest a person should say: "Alas, my grief that I was undutiful to Allah (i.e. I have not done what Allah has ordered me to do), and I was indeed among those who mocked [at the truth! i.e. La ilaha ill-Allah (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah), the Quran, and Muhammad SAW and at the faithful believers, etc.] 56 "Or (lest) it should say: 'If only Allah had guided me, I should certainly have been among the righteous!'- 57 Or it should say when it sees the punishment: Were there only a returning for me, I should be of the doers of good. 58 (But now the answer will be): Nay, for My revelations came unto thee, but thou didst deny them and wast scornful and wast among the disbelievers. 59 And you will see on the Day of Resurrection the fabricators of lies against Allah, with their faces blackened; is not the destination of the haughty in hell? 60 And Allah will deliver those who are the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) to their places of success (Paradise). Evil shall touch them not, nor shall they grieve. 61 Allah is Creator of all things; and He only is the Controller of all things. 62 unto Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth. And those who disbelieve in the signs of God, those they are the losers. 63
