The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 About the great tidings! 2 About which they differ? 3 No indeed; soon will they come to know; 4 Again, indeed, they shall know! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 And made the night a cover. 10 and made the day [a symbol of] life. 11 And We have built above you seven strong ones, 12 And We made a shining lamp, 13 And We send down from the clouds water pouring forth abundantly, 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 And gardens dense and luxuriant. 16 Indeed, the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 The day the trumpet blast is sounded you will come in hordes; 18 and when the skies are opened and become [as wide-flung] gates; 19 and the mountains shall be made to vanish, as if they had been a mirage. 20 Behold, Gehenna has become an ambush, 21 for the insolent a resort, 22 therein to tarry for ages, 23 tasting neither coolness nor any drink 24 except boiling water and pus, 25 as a fitting recompense for their deeds. 26 Surely they feared not the account, 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 So taste! for We will not add to you aught but chastisement. 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
