Noah had verily called to Us. And how gracious was He who answered (him). 75 We rescued him and his people from the greatest affliction 76 and We made his seed the survivors, 77 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 78 Peace be unto Noah among the peoples! 79 Verily, thus We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 80 For he was one of our believing Servants. 81 Then We drowned the disbelievers. 82 ۞ And most surely Ibrahim followed his way. 83 he came to his Lord with a sound heart. 84 When he said unto his father and his folk: What is it that ye worship? 85 Is it a calumny, gods apart from God, that you desire? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds?" 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 and said, "I am sick!" 89 But they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Then turned he to their gods and said: Will ye not eat? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak? 92 And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand. 93 So they (people) advanced towards him, hastening. 94 He answered: "Do you worship something that you [yourselves] have carved, 95 And Allah has created you and what you make. 96 They said, "Construct for him a furnace and throw him into the burning fire." 97 And they intended for him a plan, but We made them the most debased. 98 And he said: Lo! I am going unto my Lord Who will guide me. 99 Abraham prayed, "Lord, grant me a righteous son". 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 and when he had reached the age of running with him, he said, 'My son, I see in a dream that I shall sacrifice thee; consider, what thinkest thou?' He said, 'My father, do as thou art bidden; thou shalt find me, God willing, one of the steadfast.' 102 So when they both submitted and he threw him down upon his forehead, 103 We called out to him: "O Abraham, 104 Of a surety thou hast fulfilled the vision. Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 105 This was indeed a plain trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 110 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Is-haq, a prophet, and of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among their descendants are some who do good, but some who wrong themselves. 113
