He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 Because the blind man had come in his august presence. 2 And what do you know, he may be of the pure! 3 (He might) remember, and the Reminder might profit him. 4 As for he who thinks himself without need, 5 You pay full attention, 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 But as for him who cometh unto thee with earnest purpose 8 And is also fearful (of God), 9 you pay no heed to him. 10 Nay! surely it is an admonishment. 11 and whosoever wills, shall remember it. 12 (Contained) in honoured pages, 13 exalted, purified, 14 [borne] by the hands of messengers 15 Noble and righteous. 16 Woe to man! What hath made him reject Allah; 17 From what substance did He create him? 18 From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him, and then set him in due proportion; 19 Then the way He made easy. 20 Then He causes his death and provides a grave for him. 21 Then when He pleases, He will raise him to life again. 22 By no means hath he fulfilled what Allah hath commanded him. 23 Let the human reflect on the food he eats, 24 We poured water, pouring it in great abundance, 25 and cleaved the earth, cleaving it asunder; 26 to yield therein corn, 27 And Grapes and nutritious plants, 28 And olives and palms 29 and dense-tree'd gardens, 30 And fruits and grasses: 31 [As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock. 32 Then, when there comes As-Sakhkhah (the Day of Resurrection's second blowing of Trumpet), 33 Man will fly from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father, 35 wife and sons, 36 on that Day each will be occupied with his own business, making him oblivious of all save himself. 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 And other faces, on that day, with dust upon them, 40 Blackness will cover them. 41 these, these will be the ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity! 42
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
