Have you heard the story of Abraham's honoured guests? 24 They entered to him and said: 'Peace' And he replied: 'Peace, you are people unknown to me' 25 Then he went to his family and came with a fat [roasted] calf 26 He set it before them, saying: 'Will you not eat' 27 Then he conceived a fear of them (when they ate not). They said: "Fear not." And they gave him glad tidings of an intelligent son, having knowledge (about Allah and His religion of True Monotheism). 28 Then his wife came up in great grief, and she struck her face and said: An old barren woman! 29 They said: "Even so says your Lord. Verily, He is the All-Wise, the All-Knower." 30 ۞ He said: what then is your errand! O ye sent ones! 31 They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people, 32 to let loose upon them stone-hard blows of chastisement, 33 Marked in the presence of your Lord for the transgressors." 34 Then We evacuated those of the Believers who were there, 35 But We did not find therein save a (single) house of those who submitted (the Muslims). 36 And We left there a Sign for such as fear the Grievous Penalty. 37 And also in Moses, when We sent him unto Pharaoh, with a clear authority, 38 but he turned his back with his Assembly, saying: 'He is (either) a sorcerer or a mad man' 39 Then We seized him and his army and cast them all into the sea: he himself [Pharaoh] was to blame. 40 In 'Ad (also is a sign), when We sent a blasting wind against them, 41 It spared nothing that it reached, but blew it into broken spreads of rotten ruins. 42 And in Thamud (there is also a sign), when they were told: "Enjoy yourselves for a while!" 43 But they rebelled against their Lord's decree, and so the thunderbolt overtook them even while they gazed; 44 and they were not able to stand upright, and were not helped. 45 And the people of Nuh We destroyed aforetime; verily they were a people transgressing. 46
