The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 He created man. 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) prostrate in adoration. 6 He raised the heavens and set up everything in balance, 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 and weigh with justice, and skimp not in the Balance.) 9 And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures. 10 Therein are fruits, date-palms producing sheathed fruit-stalks (enclosing dates). 11 And grain chaffed and other food. 12 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 and He created the jinn from smokeless fire. 15 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 In-between the twain is a barrier which they pass not. 20 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 21 From them come forth the pearl and the coral. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25
