Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 Others will be despondent, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
