Have the unbelievers not ever considered that the heavens and the earth were one piece and that We tore them apart from one another. From water We have created all living things. Will they then have no faith? 30 And We have placed mountains as anchors in the earth so that it may not shake with them; and We kept wide roads in it, so that they may find guidance. 31 And We made the sky a well-protected roof. Still they turn away from His signs! 32 And He it is Who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. They float, each in an orbit. 33 And We did not ordain abiding for any mortal before you. What! Then if you die, will they abide? 34 Every soul shall taste death. We will try you with a trial of evil and good. Then, to Us you shall be returned. 35 And when those who disbelieve see you, they do not take you but for one to be scoffed at: Is this he who speaks of your gods? And they are deniers at the mention of the Beneficent Allah. 36 Man is made of inordinate haste. We will show you Our signs, then you will not desire to hasten (the punishment). 37 They ask, "When will this promise be fulfilled, if what you say be true?" 38 If the unbelievers but knew when that they shall not ward off the Fire from their faces nor from their backs, neither shall they be helped! 39 The fire will suddenly strike and confound them. They will not be able to repel it, nor will they be given any respite. 40 Other Messengers before you were also mocked, but those who scoffed at the Messengers were overtaken by the same scourge that they had scoffed at. 41
