'O Messengers, eat of the good things and do righteousness; surely I know the things you do. 51 Your religion is but one religion -- and I am your only Lord, therefore, fear Me. 52 The people divided themselves into many sects, each with their own book and each happy with whatever they had. 53 So leave them in their intoxication till a time. 54 Do they think that We enlarge them in wealth and children, 55 We hasten in good works for them? No, they are not aware. 56 Lo! those who go in awe for fear of their Lord. 57 And those who in the signs of their Lord do believe. 58 Those who join not (in worship) partners with their Lord; 59 and those who give to others what has been bestowed upon them with their hearts trembling at the thought that they must return to their Lord; 60 it is they who vie with one another in doing good works, and it is they who outrun [all others] in attaining to them! 61 We do not burden a soul beyond capacity, for We have a record that tells the truth. No wrong will be done to any one. 62 But their hearts are heedless of this. Moreover, there are other deeds besides this which they do. 63 To the extent that when We seized the wealthy among them with punishment, they immediately began imploring. 64 [But they will be told] "Cry not in supplication today; for, behold, you shall not be succoured by Us! 65 Surely My signs have been rehearsed unto you, and upon your heel ye were wont to draw back. 66 Insolently, treating them like tales told at night." 67 Should they not think upon the saying? Or, did anything come upon them that had not come upon their ancient forefathers? 68 Or is it that they did not recognize their Messenger (Muhammad SAW) so they deny him? 69 Or, say they: in him is madness? O Aye he brought them the truth, and most of them to the truth are averse. 70 And should the truth follow their low desires, surely the heavens and the earth and all those who are therein would have perished. Nay! We have brought to them their reminder, but from their reminder they turn aside. 71 (Do they disbelieve because) you asked them for payment? The reward that you will receive from your Lord is the best. He is the best Provider. 72 And most surely you invite them to a right way. 73 And verily, those who believe not in the Hereafter are indeed deviating far astray from the Path (true religion Islamic Monotheism). 74 ۞ And if We have mercy upon them and remove the calamity which has befallen them, they would still stubbornly persist, wandering in their rebellion. 75 Already We have seized them with the punishment, but they neither humbled themselves to their Lord, nor did they beseech Him, 76 Until, when We open for them the gate of severe punishment, then lo! They will be plunged into destruction with deep regrets, sorrows and in despair. 77
