Behold, thy Lord called Moses: "Go to the people of iniquity,- 10 The people of Firon: Will they not guard (against evil)? 11 He said: "My Lord! I fear that they will brand me a liar. 12 And I shall be embarrassed, and my tongue will not speak plainly, therefor send for Aaron (to help me). 13 And they have a crime against me, therefore I fear that they may slay me. 14 God said, "Indeed not; go both of you with Our signs, We shall be with you, listening [to your call]. 15 “Therefore approach Firaun then proclaim, ‘We both are Noble Messengers of the Lord Of The Creation.’ 16 "'Send thou with us the Children of Israel.'" 17 (Pharaoh) said: "Did we not cherish thee as a child among us, and didst thou not stay in our midst many years of thy life? 18 And thou didst the deed thou didst, being one of the ungrateful!' 19 Moses replied: "I committed that act erringly. 20 Then I ran away from you in fear, but my Lord granted me the law and has appointed me as a Messenger. 21 And is it a favor of which you remind me that you have enslaved the children of Israel? 22 Said Pharaoh: "And what [and who] is that 'Sustainer of all the worlds'?" 23 (Moses) said: "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, if you can believe." 24 Pharaoh said to those around him: "Do you hear (what he says)?" 25 (Moses) said: "Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers from the beginning!" 26 (Pharaoh) said: Lo! your messenger who hath been sent unto you is indeed a madman! 27 He said: Lord of the east and the west and whatsoever is in-between, if ye understand. 28 [Pharaoh] said, "If you take a god other than me, I will surely place you among those imprisoned." 29 He said, 'What, even though I brought thee something so manifest?' 30 [Pharaoh] said, "Then bring it, if you should be of the truthful." 31 Moses threw his staff and suddenly it became a serpent. 32 And he drew forth his hand and lo! it was white to the beholders. 33
