Noah had called upon Us (earlier). See, how excellent We were in answering him! 75 for We saved him and his household from that awesome calamity, 76 And made his progeny to endure (on this earth); 77 and We left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 78 Peace be on Nuh among the worlds. 79 Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 80 for he was truly one of our believing servants: 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ Of his party was also Abraham; 83 (Remember when) he came to his Lord with a pure heart; 84 When he said to his father and his people: What is it that you worship? 85 Do you want to worship false idols as your lords besides God? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the whole Universe?” 87 He cast a glance at the stars 88 And he said, "I am indeed sick (at heart)!" 89 and at that they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said, 'What do you eat? 91 What aileth ye that ye speak not? 92 Then he attacked them, striking with his right hand. 93 Then came the others to him hastening. 94 He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve? 95 While Allah created you and that which you do?" 96 They said, "Let us build a fire and throw him into the flames". 97 And they designed a snare for him, but We made them the undermost. 98 And he said: "I am going away to my Lord who will show me the way. 99 My Lord, give me one of the righteous.' 100 So We gave him the glad tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 And, when he (his son) was old enough to walk with him, he said: "O my son! I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you (offer you in sacrifice to Allah), so look what you think!" He said: "O my father! Do that which you are commanded, Insha' Allah (if Allah will), you shall find me of As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.)." 102 And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead, 103 And We called out to him, “O Ibrahim!” 104 "Thou hast already fulfilled the vision!" - thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 105 For this was obviously a trial- 106 So We ransomed him for a great sacrifice, 107 And We left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 108 'Peace be upon Abraham!' 109 That is how We recompense the righteous: 110 Verily he was one of Our believing bondmen. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Is-haq, a prophet, and of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Is-haq; and of their offspring are some well-doers and some who wrong themselves manifestly. 113
