Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 and those that speed along with gentle ease, 3 and the partitioners, 4 Verily, that which you are promised is true indeed, 5 And verily the Requital is surely to befall. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 You are indeed in different opinions regarding this Qur’an. 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Doomed are the conjecturers 10 Those who (flounder) heedless in a flood of confusion: 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 The day they will be burnt in the Fire, 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Surely the godfearing shall be among gardens and fountains 15 Accepting the rewards given by their Lord; they were indeed virtuous before this. 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 And in heaven is your provision, and that you are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as surely true as that you have speech. 23
