(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Or, has he not been told of that which is in the Scrolls of Moses 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 Certainly no one will bear the responsibility of the sins of another, 38 and that a man shall have to his account only as he has laboured, 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 Then shall he be rewarded for it with the fullest reward- 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 And that it is He (Allah) Who makes (whom He wills) laugh, and makes (whom He wills) weep; 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 And that upon Him (Allah) is another bringing forth (Resurrection); 47 And that He it is Who enricheth and contenteth; 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 That it was He who destroyed the 'Ad of old, 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 And the overthrown cities did He overthrow, 53 and covered them with torment. 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 This (Muhammad SAW) is a warner (Messenger) of the (series of) warners (Messengers) of old. 56 The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh: 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 Will you, then, wonder at this? 59 Will you laugh at it rather than weep? 60 And you are lost in play! 61 Prostrate yourselves before God, and worship Him alone! ۩ 62
