The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Most Merciful 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 He has created man: 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 The plants and trees prostrate before Him. 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 that you may not transgress in the balance, 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 Therein are fruits and palm trees with sheaths, 11 And also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-scented plants. 12 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 13 He created man of clay like the potter's, 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 16 (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 Between them is a barrier which they cannot pass. 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 Pearls and corals come from both. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 25
