The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ What do they question each other about! 1 They quarrel about the great news 2 That over which they are in disagreement. 3 Nay! they shall soon come to know 4 Nay, again, they will come to know! 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And We have created you in pairs. 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 and We made the night a mantle, 10 and made the day [a symbol of] life. 11 And constructed above you seven strong [heavens] 12 And have kept a very bright lamp in it. 13 And We sent down rain from water-laden clouds pouring in torrents 14 so that We may bring forth thereby grain and a variety of plants, 15 and gardens luxuriant. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 The day the trumpet blast is sounded you will come in hordes; 18 and when the sky shall be opened up and will become all doors; 19 And the hills are set in motion and become as a mirage. 20 Surely, Hell lies in wait, 21 a goal for all who are wont to transgress the bounds of what is right! 22 Where they will remain for aeons, 23 and where they will taste neither coolness nor any drink 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 Reward proportioned (to their evil deeds). 26 For that they used not to fear any account (for their deeds), 27 And called Our communications a lie, giving the lie (to the truth). 28 We have kept account of everything in a book. 29 Therefore taste it now We shall not increase anything for you except the punishment. 30

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
ColorfulQuran.com displays pages in one of three Arabic fonts. Each may appear with a one-third chance, adding more diversity to the already diverse colors. And the words remain unchanged forever. ColorfulQuran.com will have more beautiful fonts soon, God willing.
