The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 Human being, you strive hard to get closer to your Lord, and so you will certainly receive the recompense (of your deeds). 6 The reckoning of those whose Book of records will be given into their right hands 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 and will [be able to] turn joyfully to those of his own kind. 9 And as to him who is given his book behind his back, 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 by the night and what it covers, 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 And when the Qur'an is read to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 except to those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for theirs is an unfailing recompense. 25
