The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder 1 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must; 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 Whoever is given the Record in his right hand 7 he shall surely receive an easy reckoning 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter). 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 but God knows best whatever they accumulate in their hearts. 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
