Verily this is a Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds: 192 The Trusted Spirit hath brought it down. 193 upon your heart (Prophet Muhammad), in order to be one of the warners, 194 It has been revealed in plain Arabic. 195 Without doubt it is (announced) in the mystic Books of former peoples. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned men of the Israelites know it? 197 And had We revealed it unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 And he had read it unto them, even then they would not have been believers therein. 199 We have thus caused denial of truth to enter into the hearts of the sinners: 200 they will not believe in it till they behold the grievous suffering 201 And it shall come to them all of a sudden, while they shall not perceive; 202 Then they will say: "Shall we be respited?" 203 Seek haste then they with our torment? 204 Hast thou then seen, if We content them for (long) years, 205 And then cometh that which they were promised, 206 It will profit them not that they enjoyed (this life)! 207 And We destroyed not a city but it had its warners. 208 To remind, and We are never unjust. 209 The satans did not bring down this (Clear Book), 210 And it behoves them not, and they have not the power to do (it). 211 Verily far from hearing are they removed. 212 So invoke not with Allah another ilah (god) lest you be among those who receive punishment. 213 And admonish thy nearest kinsmen, 214 And lower your wing to those who follow you of the believers. 215 then, if they disobey thee, say, 'I am quit of that you do.' 216 Have trust in the Mighty, the Merciful, 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up (to pray) 218 and observes your movements among those who prostrate themselves. 219 For it is He Who heareth and knoweth all things. 220 Should I tell you on whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every lying sinner, 222 who readily lend ear [to every falsehood,] and most of whom lie to others as well. 223 And as for the poets [they, too, are prone to deceive themselves: and so, only] those who are lost in grievous error would follow them. 224 Seest thou not that they wander distracted in every valley?- 225 and how they say that which they do not? 226 Except those who believed and did good deeds, and profusely remembered Allah, and took revenge after they had been wronged*; and soon the unjust will come to know upon which side they will be overturned**. (* The Muslim poets who praise Allah and the Prophet. ** The disbelievers will be punished.) 227
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
