The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By heaven and the night-star! 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He was created of spurting water 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are devising guile, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 Let, then, the deniers of the truth have their will: let them have their will for a little while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
