(Moses) said: "O my Lord! expand me my breast; 25 and make my task easy for me, 26 Remove the defect of my tongue 27 (That) they may understand my word; 28 Appoint for me a minister from my family 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 To strengthen me 31 And associate him in my affair. 32 so that we may glorify 33 and remember You much: 34 Surely Thou seest into us.' 35 He said: surely thou art granted thy petition, O Musa! 36 "And indeed, We bestowed Our favour upon thee at a time long since past, 37 when We revealed Our will to your mother, saying, 38 [Saying], 'Cast him into the chest and cast it into the river, and the river will throw it onto the bank; there will take him an enemy to Me and an enemy to him.' And I bestowed upon you love from Me that you would be brought up under My eye. 39 Your sister went to them and said, "May I show you someone who will nurse this child?" We returned you to your mother to make her rejoice and forget her grief. You slew a man and We saved you from trouble. We tried you through various trials. Then you stayed some years with the people of Midian (Shu'ayb and his family) and after that you came back to Egypt as was ordained. 40 I have chosen you for My service. 41 Go, you and your brother, with My signs and do not slacken in My remembrance. 42 “Both of you go to Firaun; he has indeed rebelled.” 43 And speak to him with gentle speech that perhaps he may be reminded or fear [Allah]." 44 Both said: O our Lord! Surely we fear that he may hasten to do evil to us or that he may become inordinate. 45 The Lord replied them, "Do not be afraid; I Am with you all the time, listening and seeing." 46 Go, then; you two unto him and say, 'Behold, we are apostles sent by thy Sustainer: let, then, the children of Israel go with us, and cause them not to suffer [any longer]. We have now come unto thee with a message from thy Sustainer; and [know that His] peace shall be [only] on those who follow [His] guidance: 47 ‘It has indeed been revealed to us that the punishment is upon the one who denies and turns away.’” 48 Said Firaun, “So who is the Lord of you both, O Moosa?” 49 Musa said: our Lord is He who vouchsafed unto everything its creation, then guided it. 50 He said: What then is the state of the generations of old? 51 He replied: "The knowledge of that is with my Lord, duly recorded: my Lord never errs, nor forgets,- 52 Who made the earth for you an expanse and made for you therein paths and sent down water from the cloud; then thereby We have brought forth many species of various herbs. 53 Do you eat, and pasture your cattle! Surely in that are signs for men possessing reason. 54
