Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Indubitable! 1 What is the Inevitable Calamity? 2 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! 3 Thamud and 'Ad people denied the Qari'ah [the striking Hour (of Judgement)]! 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the lightning. 5 And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 Do you see any vestige left of them now? 8 And Firaun, and those before him, and the dwellings that were inverted and thrown, had brought error. 9 and rebelled against their Lord's Messenger. So He took them with a stern taking. 10 Verily We! when the water rose, We bare you upon the traversing ark. 11 That We might make it a memorial for you, and that remembering ears (that heard the story) might remember. 12 Then when the Horn is blown with one blast 13 And the earth with the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with one crash, 14 on that Day shall that indubitable event come to pass; 15 The sky will cleave asunder on that day and fall to pieces. 16 And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of thy Lord that day, above them. 17 On that day all of you will be brought forth, so none among you wishing to hide will be able to hide. 18 Then as to him who will be vouchsafed his book in his right hand, he shall say: here! read my book! 19 Indeed, I knew that I should come to my reckoning' 20 So he will be in a pleasant life - 21 In a lofty Paradise, 22 The Fruits whereof (will hang in bunches) low and near. 23 (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. 24 And whoever is given his book in his left hand – he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” 25 and knew nothing of my reckoning. 26 I wish my death had been the decisive one. 27 My wealth has not availed me. 28 My power hath gone from me. 29 Lay hold on him, then put a chain on him, 30 "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. 31 And then insert him in a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits. 32 for, behold, he did not believe in God, the Tremendous, 33 And urged not on the feeding of the wretched. 34 and so, no friend has here today, 35 neither any food saving foul pus, 36 “Which none except the guilty shall eat.” 37
