Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 By the night when it departs. 33 And by the dawn when it brightens, 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 A warning for people -- 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 Except those on the right side. 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us. 47 The intercession of the intercessors shall then be of no avail to them. 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 running away from a lion? 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (God) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins). 56
