The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Woe to the stinters; 1 those who, when they are to receive their due from [other] people, demand that it be given in full 2 But if they measure unto them or weight for them, they cause them loss. 3 Do they not think that they will be resurrected 4 Unto an Awful Day, 5 The Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)? 6 By no means! Verily the record of the ungodly is in Sijjin. 7 And what will make you know what Sijjin is? 8 A written record. 9 Woe, on that day, to those who have rejected God's revelations 10 Those who belie the Day of Requital. 11 No one denies it except for the evil aggressor. 12 When Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to him he says: "Tales of the ancients!" 13 No indeed; but that they were earning has rusted upon their hearts. 14 No indeed! On that Day they will be screened off from seeing their Lord, 15 Then, verily they will indeed enter and taste the burning flame of Hell. 16 and be told: "This is the [very thing] to which you were wont to give the lie!" 17 Nay, verily the record of the Righteous is (preserved) in 'Illiyin. 18 What could let you know what the 'Illiyoon is! 19 A book inscribed, 20 To which bear witness those Nearest (to Allah). 21 Most surely the righteous shall be in bliss, 22 resting on couches, looking around. 23 You will find in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 as they are given to drink of a wine sealed 25 The seal thereof will be of musk. And to this end let the aspirers aspire 26 Blended with the water of Tasnim, (heights ultimate of evolution), 27 a fountain at which the chosen ones shall drink. 28 The sinners had been laughing at the believers. 29 And whenever they passed by them, used to wink at each other (in mockery); 30 And whilst returning to their homes, they used to return rejoicing. 31 On seeing the believers, they would say, "These people have gone astray". 32 And they were not sent to be keepers over them. 33 But on this Day the Believers will laugh at the Unbelievers: 34 [for, resting in paradise] on couches, they will look on [and say to themselves]: 35 Will not the infidels pay for what they had done? 36
