When the messengers came to the family of Lot, 61 He said: "Ye appear to be uncommon folk." 62 They said, 'Nay, but we have brought thee that concerning which they were doubting. 63 We bring you the truth, and indeed we are truthful. 64 Therefore go forth with your followers in a part of the night and yourself follow their rear, and let not any one of you turn round, and go forth whither you are commanded. 65 And We made plain the case to him, that the root of them (who did wrong) was to be cut at early morn. 66 And the people of the city came [unto Lot,] rejoicing at the glad tiding. 67 [Lout (Lot)] said: "Verily! these are my guests, so shame me not. 68 and fear God, and do not degrade me.' 69 "Did we not restrain you," they said, "from (entertaining) creatures from the outside world?" 70 He said: Here are my daughters, if ye must be doing (so). 71 By thy life, they wandered blindly in their dazzlement, 72 But the (mighty) Blast overtook them before morning, 73 and We turned it uppermost nethermost and rained on it stones of baked clay. 74 Herein are really signs for those who discern. 75 That town lies on a road which still exists. 76 Indeed in this are signs for the believers. 77 And the Companions of the Wood were also wrong-doers; 78 So We took vengeance on them. And verily both are on a high-road open. 79
