And when thy Lord called Moses, saying: Go unto the wrongdoing folk, 10 the people of Pharaoh: do they have no fear?" 11 He said, “My Lord, I fear that they will deny me.” 12 My heart is constrained, my tongue falters, so delegate Aaron; 13 And they have a crime against me, so I fear that they will kill me. 14 Said He, 'No indeed; but go, both of you, with Our signs, and We assuredly shall be with you, listening. 15 Go to Pharaoh and say, 'We are the messengers of the Lord of the worlds, 16 "So allow the Children of Israel to go with us.' " 17 Fir'awn said: brought we not thee up amongst us as a child? And thou tarriedst amongst us for many years of thy life? 18 And you commited what you did, and you are ungrateful!" 19 He said: I did it then while I was of those unable to see the right course; 20 and I fled from you because I feared you. But [since] then my Sustainer has endowed me with the ability to judge [between right and wrong,] and has made me one of [His] message-bearers. 21 And is it a favor of which you remind me that you have enslaved the children of Israel? 22 Said Pharaoh: "And what [and who] is that 'Sustainer of all the worlds'?" 23 [Moses] said, "The Lord of the heavens and earth and that between them, if you should be convinced." 24 (The Pharaoh) said to those around him: "Do you hear?" 25 Moses continued, "He is the Lord and the Lord of your forefathers." 26 Said Firaun, “This (Noble) Messenger of yours, who has been sent towards you, has no intelligence!” 27 He said: Lord of the East and the West and all that is between them, if ye did but understand. 28 Pharaoh said: "If you take any god other than me, I will certainly make you one of those (who are rotting) in prison." 29 Said he: "Even if I should bring about before thee something that clearly shows the truth?" 30 [Pharaoh] said, "Then bring it, if you should be of the truthful." 31 Then he flung down his staff and it became a serpent manifest, 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo! it was white unto the beholders. 33
