The people of Lot accused the messengers of lies. 160 Their brother Lot asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 161 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 162 Have fear of God and obey me. 163 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 164 What, do you come to the males of the world, 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? No, but you are a transgressing nation' 166 They said: "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will be expelled (from the city)." 167 He said: verily I am of those who abhor your work. 168 “My Lord, rescue me and my family from their deeds.” 169 So We delivered him and his followers all, 170 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 171 Then We destroyed the others. 172 and We rained on them a rain; and evil is the rain of them that are warned. 173 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 174 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might Most Merciful. 175
