The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 has taught the Qur'an, 2 He created the human being 3 Has taught him the knowledge of the past and the future. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 and heaven -- He raised it up, and set the Balance. 7 so that you should not transgress the measure. 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees sheathed. 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He hath let loose the two seas. 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 21 Pearls and corals come forth from both of them. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 His are the ships with elevated sails upon the sea like mountains. 24 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 25
