Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 labouring, weary, 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 (Other) faces on that day shall be happy, 8 well-pleased with [the fruit of] their striving, 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 Where they hear no idle speech, 11 In it there shall be a flowing spring, 12 and couches raised high, 13 And cups put in place 14 and cushions arrayed in rows, 15 and well spread carpets. 16 What, do they not consider how the camel was created, 17 how the heavens are raised up high, 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. 26
