Verily We created man of potter's clay of black mud altered, 26 And created the jinn before him, from smokeless fire. 27 And recall when your Lord said to the angels, “I will create man from sounding clay made out of black smelly mud.” 28 When I have shaped him and ran My created soul in him fall down prostrating towards him'. 29 The angels bowed in homage in a body 30 But Iblis (did it not); he refused to be with those who made obeisance. 31 [Allah] said, O Iblees, what is [the matter] with you that you are not with those who prostrate?" 32 He said: I am not one to prostrate myself unto a mortal whom Thou hast created out of potter's clay of black mud altered! 33 [Allah] said, "Then get out of it, for indeed, you are expelled. 34 and will be subjected to condemnation until the Day of Judgment." 35 (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are raised." 36 "You are among the reprieved," (said the Lord), 37 "Till the predetermined time." 38 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Because you misled me, I shall indeed adorn the path of error for them (mankind) on the earth, and I shall mislead them all. 39 except Your sincere servants". 40 Said He: "This is, with Me, a straight way: 41 verily, thou shalt have no power over My creatures - unless it be such as are [already] lost in grievous error and follow thee [of their own will]: 42 Surely Hell is the promised place for all of them." 43 It has seven gates; for every gate there shall be a separate party of them. 44
