Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 By the Clear Book; 2 We have made it a Qur'an in Arabic, that ye may be able to understand (and learn wisdom). 3 And verily, [originating as it does] in the source, with Us, of all revelation, it is indeed sublime, full of wisdom. 4 Should We have withdrawn the Reminder from you as you are a people who exceed the bounds? 5 How many a Prophet did We send to the ancients, 6 But never yet came a prophet to them without their deriding him 7 Then We destroyed those who were stronger than these in prowess, and the case of the ancients has gone before, 8 Yet, if you ask them who created the heavens and the earth, they will answer: 'The Almighty, the Knower created them' 9 Who has made the earth a cradle for you and made thereon paths for you so that, hopefully, you may find your way 10 And Who sent down water from the sky with a proper measure, so We revived a dead city with it; this is how you will be taken out. 11 He who created pairs of everything, and fashioned for you boats and beasts on which you ride, 12 In order that ye may sit firm and square on their backs, and when so seated, ye may celebrate the (kind) favour of your Lord, and say, "Glory to Him Who has subjected these to our (use), for we could never have accomplished this (by ourselves), 13 And verily unto our Lord we are to return. 14 Yet they attribute to some of His servants a share with Him (in his godhead)! truly is man a blasphemous ingrate avowed! 15
