The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 He created man. 3 and has taught him articulate speech. 4 The sun and moon rotate in a predestined orbit. 5 the stars and the trees bend in prostration. 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 That ye exceed not the measure, 8 And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance. 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees with their dates in sheaths, 11 and grains with their husk and fragrant plants. 12 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 And created jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie 16 He is the Lord of the East and West through all seasons. 17 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains. 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
