The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 that hide, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 where then are you going? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
