Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder. 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 the oceans are merged together, 3 when the tombs are overthrown, 4 A soul will know what it hath sent before (it) and what left behind. 5 O man! what hath beguiled thee concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 Who created you, then made you complete, then made you symmetrical? 7 In whatever shape He will He could surely have fashioned you. 8 Nay! but you give the lie to the judgment day, 9 you do so the while there are watchers over you; 10 The honourable recorders. 11 They know what you do. 12 Surely the virtuous shall be in Bliss, 13 whereas the wicked will be in Hell; 14 They will burn therein on the Day of Judgment, 15 and from it they shall never be absent. 16 And what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 Then, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense? 18 It will be a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to any other human being, God [alone] will hold command on that Day. 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
