When the messengers came to the family of Lot, 61 He said: "Verily! You are people unknown to me." 62 They said: Nay, we have come to you with that about which they disputed. 63 We have come to you for a genuine purpose and We are true in what we say. 64 Leave the town with your family sometime during the night. Walk behind them and let no one turn around. Proceed as you are commanded." 65 We issued this command to him, for they were going to be destroyed in the morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 and he told them, "These are my guests, so do not disgrace me. 68 "And do not disgrace me. Have some fear of God." 69 They said, 'Have we not forbidden thee all beings?' 70 He said: these are my daughters, if act ye must. 71 By your life! they were blindly wandering on in their intoxication. 72 So the shriek seized them at sunrise. 73 And We utterly confounded them, and We rained upon them stones of heated clay. 74 Indeed in that are signs for those who discern. 75 And lo! it is upon a road still uneffaced. 76 Most surely there is a sign in this for the believers. 77 And the Companions of the Wood were also wrong-doers; 78 So, We took vengeance on them. They are both on an open highway, plain to see. 79
